Steven Weaver (In Memoriam)
Steven was an extension associate with Southern Regional Extension Forestry (SREF) at the University of Georgia, specializing in geospatial applications and web/IT development. He passed away July 12, 2020 after a two year battle with cancer.
He received a B.S.F.R. at the University of Georgia, Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources 2010, and M.S. at the University of Georgia, Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources 2014. Shortly after taking a position with SREF, he began work with the Invitational. He formally joined the committee in 2017, and continued work with the Invitational in varying capacities up through early 2020.
Steven was a thoughtful, caring, diligent person. He was deeply faithful and practiced that faith through humble service to others.
Like everyone in natural resources, Steven loved being outdoors. He spent the end of his life at home and outdoors as much as possible with his wife and young son.
Steven will be deeply missed by the National 4H Forestry Invitational.
