Forestry Bowl Contest References
The link below is to a Handbook of forestry bowl questions that can be used by team members to prepare for the Invitational Forestry Bowl competition. It should be understood that these are not the questions that will be asked during the Forestry Bowl competition. The practice questions in this training aid document were provided by Dr. Deborah Hill, Invitational Committee member and Kentucky Extension forestry specialist, and are used in Kentucky's state 4-H forestry contest. They are provided as practice questions so state teams can experience the type of questions asked in the Invitational competition.
Questions for the Invitational Forestry Bowl competition are developed from the following official Invitational references:
- National 4-H Forestry Manuals - Unit A, B, and C; available from the "Training" section of the Invitational web site.
- Information presented within the "official" web site links for species in the Insect and Disease Identification and the Tree Identification contests. The "official" link is the web site to which each insect or disease species is linked from the Invitational's web site. Refer to the "Training" section of the Invitational web site for the "official" Insect and Disease Identification and Tree Identification training pages and the web site links to each tree, insect and disease species.
