Extension Agent (retired), Auburn University

The Invitational has "opened the door" for Extension to work with numerous 4-H volunteers over the years. One major result of the Invitational we overlook is that it also serves as a teaching tool to better train Extension agents and volunteers about forest management practices. The Invitational has also opened many doors to have lifelong relationships with former team members. Money cannot buy the gratification I experience when I receive an invitation from team members to attend their graduations, weddings, and other “special” events. I would like to thank you and the National 4-H Forestry Invitational Committee in the past, present and future for their leadership in implementing this very worthwhile 4-H activity.
