Dr. Dave McGill

Dave is currently the Forest Resources Extension Specialist at West Virginia University in Morgantown, West Virginia and current Co-Chair of the Invitational. Previous to his current position, he lived in Greenbrier County near Rupert, West Virginia, and worked as a natural hardwood research scientist for Westvaco Corporation.

Dave's forestry background includes red oak research in Madison, Wisconsin (where he completed his Masters Degree), teaching and doctoral forest research work at Penn State, and a number of assignments with the USDA Forest Service. Following the completion of his Bachelor's degree in Natural Resources Management at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, California Dave served as a Peace Corps volunteer in the Republic of Niger, West Africa.

Dave is on the Executive Board of the West Virginia Division of the Society of American Foresters. He is also a member of the Ecological Society of America and Xi Sigma Pi. His hobbies include reading to his kids and traveling with his family.
